Bobby Labonte Racing Ready for The Dream,
Archdale, N.C. (June 9, 2010) – Bobby Labonte Racing (BLR) will travel to Rossburg (Ohio) this weekend for the 16th Annual Dirt Late Model Dream at Eldora Speedway on Friday and Saturday, June 11 and 12. This event is non-sanctioned and draws the best dirt late model teams and drivers from across the country. BLR heads into the weekend with momentum on its side and should be considered a team to beat.
After a win last Saturday at Florence (Ky.) Speedway, Earl Pearson Jr. is ready for another win at Eldora and his first in The Dream. He is a multi-time winner at the track, including a win at the World 100. Currently, the No. 44 Lucas Oil Dodge Charger is in the race for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series championship, and with three series wins already, is sitting third in points. Pearson Jr. will be a favorite from the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series contingent this weekend.
Another contender to take the win will be teammate Brad Neat and the No. 41 Red Buck team. This will be Neat’s first race in The Dream. After his first win of the 2010 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt season last weekend in Tazewell (Tenn.), the team has the momentum and the attitude to win in his first attempt at one of the most prestigious events in the country.
“Brad was able to lead over three quarters of the race Friday night at Tazewell, and it has definitely brought up the team morale. Earl dominated at Florence Speedway on Saturday night to get his first win at Florence. These are the results that this team is looking for.
“It means a lot to win this race because it’s so hard. You have the best from the Lucas Series, the World of Outlaws and the other regional series contenders, too. It’s tough just to make the big show for this race. You have to have a good qualifying time and run well in your heat. You have time to move up front in the feature, but the heat races are short. It’s tough, but I think our guys are ready.”
