Kasey Kahne to Race in Kasey’s King of Bulls Gap Friday and Saturday Nights at Volunteer Speedway
The two-night event at the historic four-tenths-mile oval featuring 35 degrees of banking is just off Interstate 81 at Exit 23, about 45 minutes southwest of Bristol. It is the first World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series event at Volunteer Speedway since 2007, when Kasey Kahne Racing’s Joey Saldana captured the checkered flag. Saldana, who drives the #9 Budweiser car, enters this weekend leading the standings for the 2010 World of Outlaws championship. In addition to Saldana and Kahne, Paul McMahan in the #91 Great Clips car and Brad Sweet in the #49 Auto Value Bumper to Bumper car also race for KKR.
Kasey’s King of Bulls Gap Presented By Budweiser is the beginning of the four-race Showdown for the Bud Crown, which includes events on June 16 at Missouri State Fair Speedway in Sedalia, Mo., and July 8 in the Chicago area, where a champion be named and the top three overall finishers will be honored.
Tickets can still be purchased online at http://dirtcar.ticketforce.com or by calling the World of Outlaws at 704-795-7223. Pit gates will open at 1 p.m. and main gates at 4 p.m.
