The Fall weather may have cooled of Eastbay Raceway Park Saturday night but the racing action on the Clay was hot!  A packed grandstand saw around 100 cars hit the track for 6 feature classes.

In the Gagel’s Open Wheeled Modifieds Roger Crouse started on the poll.  Front row mate Jamie Burrows was involved in an early caution and had to go to the back of the field.  Crouse lead flag to flag for his first win of the season in the class.  John Bradley and Bruce Harvey battled for position for the entire feature.  Bradley finished 2nd and Harvey wound up 3rd.  Austin Sanders turned in a solid performance with a 4th place finish.  Brian Hollifield held off Alex Boerner to round out the top-5.  Crouse and Burrows won the heats.

Steve O’Lone was credited with his first win of the season in the Street Stocks.  It had appeared that Buck Skinner was the feature winner but the 00B car failed post race inspection.  Buck Woodhouse was second in the points entering the night came home with a 2nd place finish.  James Hook battled in the top-5 all night long and finished 3rd.  Jeff Rogers finished 4th and picked up his first top-5 of the year.  Andy Lee rounded out the top-5.  Woodhouse and Reed won the heat races.

The Florida Old Time Modifieds put on another great show in their 10-lap feature event.  The last lap was a three-car battle for the victory with Dan Darnell, Lars Amundsen and Steve Parrish all battling for the win.  Dan Darnell began his move with 2 laps to go, by turn 4 of the last lap he was in position to pass Amundsen and Parrish as the cars were three wide as they drove off of turn 4.  Darnell took the win, which was his first in the class at East Bay.  Amundsen finished 2nd.  Parrish finished 3rd after starting at the tail end of the field.  Johnny Gonzalez and Don Land rounded out the top 5 finishers.

The ASCS Sprints Rebel Region cars were in action for their 25 lap main event.  Tyler Godwin had the dominant car and started on the pole.  He was able to hold off Danny Martin on a couple early restarts and then spread the field out.  The win was Godwin’s first of the season in the class, his best prior finish was 12th.  Greg Leonard and Danny Martin battled for position as the laps wound down with Leonard holding down the 2nd spot.  Martin finished 3rd.  Michael Miller and Jeff VanDusen rounded out the top-5.  Brian Maddox and VanDusen won the heat events.

In the Motorstats.com 4 cylinder bombers Robert Kissam was disqualified in post race technical inspection for an illegal header.  Roberto Morfin, Jr. battled all night and was credited with the win, which was his 4th of the season.  Raymond Vann finished 2nd.  Roland Price, IV finished 3rd.  Darrell Taylor and Dalton Epps rounded out the top-5.  Johnnie Alexander, Vann and Jim Baker won the heats.

DB Hogwaller won the Dirt Dauber feature event.
